Don't get me wrong I love the Simpsons HUGE fan, but I"m talkig about REAL cartoons!

Depends. Do you mean animated short cartoons? If so, I'd have to vote for the Warner Brothers shorts, especially the three "Duck Season/Wabbit Season" cartoons directed by Chuck Jones*, but the classic Tom & Jerry shorts (directed by Hanna & Barbera, produced by Fred Quimby) are up there too.
But then there's feature-length films. And TV animation. And the word cartoon also includes comic strips and comic books/graphic novels... It's just too much!!!

For everything I grew up with, Invader Zim is the best kids cartoon ever. I love the classics, but I think the Boondocks and Futurama are the best adult cartoons out there. No mainstream cartoon wil ever match the Simpsons legacy, but they've been grasping at straws for ideas, for years now.

Tom and Jerry definetely tops my list! The old batman cartoon was pretty good too... Du nu nu nu nu nununu Batmaaaaannnn!!!
And don't act like you didn't use to watch Power Rangers. Although i don't think that really counts as an animated cartoon... just a really corny one..
