I spent several years in the US Navy in the Western Pacific and tipped quite a few beers with British sailors in Hong Kong and port visits in Australia. When I'm in their backyard, they don't have an accent. I listen funny. I really didn't have a problem with accents. Vocabulary was my stumbling block. There are dialects in the U.S. that I really have to pay attention to, also. As far as the friendliest, I Will say that I was treated quite hospitably in Perth/Fremantle, Western Australia. But I didn't stay so long that I wore out my welcome.

I have had difficulty understanding some strong Scottish accents, and there are some American deep South accents that I cant understand at all.
But the Scottish were some of the friendliest people I ever met, and the few Aussies I've met have been very nice also.

I don't have any trouble with Brit or Aussie, & most American.
I have the most trouble understanding people from the deep South...I am not sure what they are saying half the time!
There was a Southern race driver who did a radio commercial for use in the NE. I can not understand half the words he uses, & the other half, he doesn't even complete words!
I think some of the South is developing their own language!
But, I have met very friendly people in all 3 countries!

I don't have a problem with any of the accents. I am American, went to college in England and I've gone sailing in Australia... they all sound OK to me.
I think the Aussies are the friendliest... Brit are only polite when they work on cruise ships... when you actually live in England you learn what the are really like. Americans... well... they are too concerned with being arrogant and superior to be friendly.

Oh, Aussies are the friendliest by far. Difficult to understand? I'd say there are a few British dialects that are pretty tough to figure out. Scots maybe.

And after I got here decrease back to my united states of america, human beings say I do sound like an Australian. however it is been more effective than a decade because the finest time I breath Australian air, and that i by some ability keep in mind that i do not sound any more effective like an Australian. i wager i have been spoiled by using the Hollywood form of English lol. Depends on what you're used to. Each country has some accents that are damn near impossible to figure out if you're from another country.
And the friendliest are Aussies.

Depends on who you talk to.
There are different British accents.
There are different American accents.
As an American, I find a heavy Scottish accent the most difficult to discern, but after a few minutes you get acclimated to it.
