The Arab Nations hate America b/c America is trying to introduce democracy to these countries and their society is not structured in a way to promote and sustain democracy. I have studied International Relations for a while and recived my BA in that subject area. If a society is set up based on religion, governing civil society and things of that nature, democracy can not work. The US keeps imposing its value system on these countries and they don't want it. Some of these cultures tend to be conservative when it comes to certain issues, like what women wear, sex before marriage, divorce etc. They look at our society and our media and think that we are void of morals, sinful and wasteful and if they think we are that bad why would they want to be like us. Many Arab writers will comment on our divorce rate, education, sexuality etc. They don’t want these items in their society. Sometime it is hard to separate the people on tv from the people that lead day to day lives in America. They can only observe what they see. So if they only see people like Beyonce and Christina A gyrating on stage and singing about sex and shaking their butts with no clothes on, they think that our society promotes that.

The long and short of it is, there are too many differences in culture, values, religion and lifestyle for them to become Democratic. There is no foundation for American lifestyle over there. This is what pisses them of. They want America to stop imposing on them and other countries in the world.

Also, there is our support of Isreal and our views on their land distribution that does not sit well with them.

There's an analogy we used in college for this.
Think about kids in a playground, there is bound to be one big kid (America) some see this kid as a bully; others see him as an ally. Some of the smaller kids will get together and stand against the big kid and others will go to the big kid for protection and others will instigate conflict. This is the way the world and politics work.
