I do not believe so.I hold my own existence in a much higher regard than I believe others do there own because of attention to my own depth.I find most of all that people are not worthy of me and to share myself is only to satisfy ego.We all find ourselves in this position sometime.I wonder if awareness changes ones attitude of perception. How to reach a sole as deeply as I know my own?
These are the great questions of life.

simple answer: yes.
Self-preservation instincts kick in at the oddest times, don't you think? That's where it comes from, hence the phrase, "Die of embarrassement." WE need to work past theese obstacles, that's why we have these big brains. I just read a short passage in a Speculative novel in which they put forth the theory that evolution has been ursurped by our intellect--there will be no more spontaneous evolution as we can control our environments, blah blah blah. Of course that leaves the door open for some sort of auto-evolution. Apply your brains folks--excercise the muscle, not just intellectually, but on our instincts and emotions as well, and we may just grow, all on our own!

Perhaps it does. What we need to strive for is balance. Trust ( which is what relationships are all about ) is built over time. We learn who can be trusted with what. At the top of the trust scale is close to 100% trust in every respect, but that's exeedingly rare. Where people wind up in serious problems in relationships is when they trust too much in too many areas too soon.

No, I think that most of us are just careful to let only a few people into our personal space. I don't think that it is being shallow as much as it is being careful and cautious
