Well if you exercise regularly then you have much less to worry about - cheese is a very good source of calcium and protein and ofcourse there are so many kinds of cheese that it varies - indeed you are probably referring to the amount of fat in cheese that worries you - as long as you exercise regularly you can afford to have a couple of slices of cheese a day - as long as you burn of the fat calories you'll get the essential nutrients without putting on the weight - fat should constitue about 30% of your diet anyway and generally not much more - get low fat cheese :) - other than that cheese is not bad for you in any way. But it does raise your cholestrol the same way eggs do so like eggs it should not be your main source of protein - if you dont eat meat you need to look into vegeterian options like tofu combinations that give you the required protein - too much of a good thing is indeed a bad thing - supplement your diet with cheese - dont make it breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fish is a good source of protein too.

I would look into protein bars like the Snicker's Marathon Energy bar. I just started eating them and their nutritional stats are pretty good. It'll cover a lot of your protein and calcium requirements if you're looking for alternatives. I love cheese, but you can only eat so much.
By the way, fish is meat.

Eat as much as you like, so long as you are healthy. Cheese can have a bad effect on you if you have high cholesterol. it can also make you constipated, when eating too much. You could try eating protein bars and shakes. Also dink OJ that has added calcium in it. Also varies types of nuts are good for protein also.

Cheese can constipate you. If that happens, you ate too much. It also raises your cholesterol so if that is a problem, cut back. If you are serious about not eating meat, do some research to find the correct way to do it, not just talk to your friends.

you said you eat dairy products so there is you calcium. eat small portions of cheese this could cause high cholesterol if to much is taken in.

you're supposed to eat 3 dairy servings a day, try some soy products for protein, the morning star breaded "chicken" is really good!!

None, I can't stand the stuff. Try products like soy, tofu and quorn for protein as well as baked beans. Talk to a dietician or nutritionist to ensure you get the correct balance in your diet.

Eat as much cheese as you like, but make sure you counteract it with foods containing fiber, or a fiber supplement! Cheese has, er, 'side effects' you know...
