First of all, Sr would have taken some of these young drivers and gave them the how to talk. JR's ********* would be under control and maybe the media would shut up about Tony since he aint the only one doing things wrong!!!
We miss you Dale!!!

well since dales death they have made the safer barriers, better restraints for the drivers and have had gotten tougher on the rules.

but I think if dale did not die that day, I think that he would be right along with them doing the same thing. I think alot of the drivers since dales death have taken his attitude and put it on the track. Kind of a way to keep his spirit alive....I have noticed that some drivers have done the same thing that dale would have done or have done.

Dale was a great driver and he is deeply missed.

I'm not so sure all you Smoke fans want Sr. around as much as you think you do. Dale would've put Tony in his place after his first "put his foot in his mouth" incident at Daytona. The only reason the media has taken a liking to Tony is because he says one thing, and don't get me wrong, it sounds good to the public, but when he pulls that kind of s**t on the track, it makes him look like an a**. NASCAR needs to more than what they are doing. Jeff gordon got a $10,000 fine and some probation for spinning Kenseth, whoopy s**t. when he make $400,000 at least per race regardless of where he finishes, 10G ain't nothin. I think EVERYONE needs to open their eyes and see what's really going on here. It's all to get viewers attention. Now everyone is going to be wondering whos gonna wreck who and the commentaters ain't helping by bringing back a wreck that happened 3 years ago between two people, and if they tangle again, then its automatically retaliation. NASCAR needs to start docking points and maybe suspending these idiots for the way they are driving. they are racing at tremendous speeds, and to intentionally wreck a fellow driver is just insane.

Why would it be different with Sr. still around? If anything, it may be worse because he used the dirty tactics that we talk about week in and week out without receiving any punishment. With Sr. racing that way, why wouldn't the young guys feel it is right to do the same thing?

I personally don't see Dale Jr. as being cocky. As a matter of fact, he is pretty laid back about everything. It's the media that puts the ********* by elevating him unnecessarily.

In my opinion, the media doesn't need to shut up about Tony. He is creating the environment himself, so maybe he needs to answer to himself first.

I don't think Dale Jr is cocky; now there was a time back when his dad was alive when he was and his dad put him in his place in a hurry.
I do think Tony Stewart is a loose cannon! He is a good driver, no doubt about, he has won 2 championships to proove it. But he is a jerk. He is NEVER wrong, never!, just ask Tony and he will tell you! His apologies are NOT sincere. He will pull the same stuff he always does in the next race or mabye he will wait 2 races. He talks about the "give and take" but all he does is take. My favorite commerical is where Jeremy Mayfield has the semi back into Tony's car...I love it!
If Dale Sr were alive I do believe he would have put Tony in his place a looooooong time ago!

Reality not a lot of people have seen races that involved Sr, or some of the other older drivers. I know die hard nascar fans that have only been watching it for the past 3-4 years you say Sr to them and they have heard stuff but never seen it. They are the ones who if you can sit them down and have them watch a couple of old races they would put Sr in the I hate him category for the way he drives. If Sr was around DEI wouldnt suck, there would be more spin outs and Nascar wouldnt do a thing about it because it was him.

Before he was "sainted", Dale Sr. was the major CAUSE of much of the garbage on the track. Tony's a great driver but he needs to brush up on his history. And he should have been parked for what he did Sunday. I've never seen such a blatant attempt at retaliation on a high speed track. Stupid move by a drive still maturing.

NASCAR is going the same route as wrestling...all show. Soon, the competition will be gone and winners will be decided before the race. People may like the wrecks...but when a driver dies it takes the "fun" out of it. To reduce, or eliminate the wrecks, the competition will be eliminated. To hold viewers, there will be other "antics" to keep people watching. The past years have seen amazing developments in the ability of the cars...maybe they can't get the vehicles any quicker. That always made it fun...who could find that extra couple of seconds from the technology improvements.

It would be going on by just him. He would have Tony pissing in his pants. Dale Sr. was the greatest and I wasn't even a fan of his. But people had respect for him and the other veteran drivers. To many of the young drivers today look out for only their selves.

Most likely worse. Why? Sr. made rough, or "dirty" driving fashionable to begin with! What always amazed me is why nobody ever performed rhinoplasty by hand on him from the start. I don't see Jr.as cocky at all, quite the contrary, he is laid-back, and shy, quite average in real life, as opposed to his daddy, who could be cocky, and arrogant at times. As for Tony, he is just being himself. He is arguably the most competitive personality out there. He wears his emotions on his sleeve, and the media picks up on this. Makes for "good press", mainly because most, if not all the motorsports reporters are too ignorant to write about the legitimate issues of the sport.

If Earnhardt were still around, Tony would be the one in the wall, and Tony would be the one thats being taught the lesson.

Tony Stewart didn't race with Earnhardt long enough. He doesn't know what Earnhardt was about and he's sadly mistaken if he thinks that people should respect him like they do Earnhardt.
