ok, so I googled someone and did a zabasearch as well. Is there anyway for the person to find out that I did that. I had a phone number left on my caller id from this person yesterday and it freaked my out and I can't figure out how they got my home number, but they do not know me at all. I'm sort of embarrassed to admit it, but it's my boyfriends ex, and curiosity or jealously got the best of me and I went searching. I would be so dead if he found out. That is why I need to know if they can track my searches of them back to my home pc. Is there a way for a person to know if they are being googled or searched,

There are no tracks that another person could get about your search.

Since the person is your boyfriend's ex, they were probably just a curious about you! A few inquiries, from both people and internet, could provide your phone number.

Maybe they have something interesting to say!

Good Luck

It's possible but unlikely.

If the person has already planted software on your computer to track your activities, she could determine all of your internet activities, including what searches you've done. However, this would require her to have basically hacked your computer to install the tracking program. Unless she's had access to your computer, I wouldn't worry about this.

The other way she could find out is to get it from Google. Google keeps track of what you've searched for (by tracking your IP address). They probably don't have your name, address, etc. But they do have your computer's network address. Fortunately, Google does not give this information out. They keep your private information private unless legally obligated to do otherwise. To get your search history from Google this person would have had to hack Google.

So yes, it is technically possible to know if someone has searched for your name on the internet. However, it is unlikely in most cases since it requires substantial technical knowledge and hacking ability.

well, there's no way, that was a coincidence that he called you, but just in case delete all the temporaly files and the cookies in your pc, go to internet explorer, tools, internet opction, in the midle you'll see delete cookies, and the one next to it is the temporaly file that says delete file ok.

I doubt it unless you visited a site that keeps track of her visitors. Then maybe she could've got your email but I still doubt it.

After you googled her did you tell any of your friends who know this girl? maybe they said something to her. Other than that she wouldn't know.

I think its a coincidence. I don't think the person can know that you "googled" them.
