I have missed two periods. I have done two home pregnancy tests. Nothing. Why does this happen to people? I know friends who have had this happen a few times in their lives. I am 35 and this is my first time seeing this.

Have you had unprotected sex? If you have, there is a very good chance you are pregnant. Some women...(actually many women) have a false negative on home pregnancy tests for several months. You are going to have to bite the bullet and go to the doctor to have a blood test done, (not a urine). That will rule out pregnancy. In the mean while, don't drink or smoke and take care of yourself, just in case you have a 8 week old fetus growing inside you.

Have you been working out a lot or running a lot? That can cause a girl/woman to miss periods. If you are not working out or doing lots of exersize than see your dr. and find out that way. You may be pregnant and your body may not be giving of the chemical markers that are picked up by a pregnancy test. If that is not the case then it may be early menopause. My mother started showing signs of menopause in her mid to late 30's and there are meds that can help.

It could be that you are starting to enter the world of menopause. But, missing your period can be explained with alot of things. Stress, weight, poor diet or change in your exercising routine on how often and such can cause changes in your period. If I were you I would make an appointment with my regular physician to have an examine to make sure that nothing medical is going on. And even pregnancy tests can be wrong.

Are you on the pill? It is common then. If not, you may not have ovulated a couple of times. Have you been under any unusual mental or physical stress?

If you don't have any other symptoms of pregnancy, it could be the beginning of perimenopause. That is how it started with me. In either case you should see the gyne.

How thin are you?

A woman needs a certain percentage of body fat---about 15 percent--in order to menstruate.

Perhaps you dipped below that threshold.

Could be any number of things. Could be early menopause, hormone imbalance. Best thing is to go see your gynecologist, and if you don't have one, find one.
