I've always had this problem, I cry at the drop of a hat. When I was still working(I stay at home with my son now) after I heard something that made me feel like crying I would excuse myself to the restroom. That way you can compose yourself without everyone seeing that whatever has gotten to you. I try to just push the thing out of my mind deciding I will deal with it when I get home. I hope this helps

I can see no objection to quietly crying without loud sobs at bad news. It only shows you are human. You would not be criticized.
