When the check engine light came on, I took it to the auto parts store. The trouble code that they got off of it was P1456. The problem according to the print out they gave me, states two problems: 1. evap emmission control sys leak detected. 2. fuel tank temperature sensor circuit. Do I have to take the car in right away and have these problems fixed? Are they serious? How can one code stand for two problems? The car is still running. Any help or ideas you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Diagnostic codes are just like directional arrows, they point you in a general area. I would immagine that there's a vaccum leak somewhere. Check all of your vaccum lines. There are probably a few that are cracked and dry-rotted. In the mean time, you should be able to continue driving it without a problem. Good luck.

I would run the car if you don't have the money to fix it right now
As soon as you get the money have it fixed.

The problems you gave will only make it use more gas and maybe not run correctly

I would take it in and get it fixed. It maybe nothing but then again if it is stating that there are leaks then I would most defiantly have it looked at.
