Savvy means to understand, and know a great deal about something. Like if you know all about wine's then your savvy about them.

Savvy means you are knowledgeable and very confident about it. You are up to date on a lot and you feel good about it.

SAVVY means knowledge...
and it comes from the spanish word SABER which means exactly that to know or have knowledge
It comes from the time when spanish and english were mixed by cowboys etc. in the far west
"Sabe" or "Sabes" would have been used as a question...sort of like ya'know?
