The black ink seems to fade out on the test page, but the black ink cartridge is over half full. Any help?

1. Right click on your default Printer>Printing Preferences (do all 'Maintenance', like cleaning, deep cleaning, Roller Cleaning etc.).

2. Right Click on Default Printer>Pause Printing>(If display) Purge Printing

Then Restart PC!

What type o printer is it? Did the test page fade? It could be that the cartridges are dirty or jammed - happens when they haven't been used. Try looking at the FAQ'a in the manual or try the following

Go to the START MENU
Control Panels
Printers
Right click on your printer and select Properties
Go to the service tab and select Clean my Cartridge

(your tabs may be slightly different, but look around until you get the clean my cartridfe option)

This should solve your problem.

Check with your friends to see if anyone has the same type cartridge. If they do then try that cartridge,if it works ,then you have a defective cartridge.
