He isn't. Everyone seems to hate him!
Much as I am often inclined to defend a person who seems to have a hate campaign against them, I have to say I'm not too bothered about Tom, as he seriously irritates me. (Subjective? Yes.)
I guess we shouldn't believe everything we read about Cruise, as the media do seem to have it in for him. I just have this lingering impression of him as a complete control freak and it's not like he does himself any favours when he's interviewed...
I also think he acted like a jerk when he got sprayed with water at the at the London premiere of War of the Worlds. I mean surely a person of his riches and standing can handle a silly little ego-bruising prank like that?
Conservativeguyfromnc: What an appropriate name! I wonder what makes him think male hetrosexuality is somehow automatically "threatening" to "chicks"? (That was largely a rhetorical question btw. I think I could hazard a guess at the reasons.)

I think he's weird, with all this Scientology malarki - and whats all that about selling his kids picture to the highest bidder, but because he took so long deciding who would pay the biggest wod of cash, Brad and Angelina had their baby and apparently after that little Suri was old news and no one wanted to pay much money for the pic and apparently now, no one has seen the baby, not even close friends - now thats weird

He WAS so popular because he is a very good actor and a good looking guy. He is losing his popularity because he is proving to be a self-righteous whacko!

He's weird and people like that. He's also an excellent actor in my book -- he was great in War of the Worlds, for example. He's also happier than the rest of us put together -- just look at those photos of him with his cutie!

i think his popularity is fading .. slowly but surely. I used to like him..top gun days etc.. but going off him now as a person! it was our first date on friday that killed it for me!! poor suri!
