Practice can never make you be perfect but it does enhance your ability to do that particular task. We practice so we won't make the old mistakes over and over again. If we didn't practice, then we would all be farcical and we would continue to stay in our ape phase. Practice makes perfect, is a dictum. None of us can be perfect but we can sure try to be perfect. It gives us a reason to live.

I don't think practice makes perfect (as in no mistakes whatsoever), but practice does make permanent. You could practice something a particular way (maybe the wrong way) and it becomes permanent and hard to break away.
I do think practice makes perfect in that it helps you grow in whatever area you're working on: perfect, in this case, meaning "maturation or completeness." The Lord does tell us to strive for that kind of perfection that He has established as a goal for our lives.

You should take some more philosophical classes before asking those types of questions:
Practice makes you do ONE thing perfectly well, not that often, but you'll be good enought).
It doesn't mean that EVERYTHING you do is perfect.
Plus, perfection is all relative. Look at beauty: people will never agree on what true beauty is. Same with how you interact with other people, etc...
Perfection is not necessarily what you can do. It's also who you are, as a person.

Practice makes perfect and nobody is perfect (except 1) but when we perfect something, we make something perfect so little bits of our creations can be perfect in our eyes. We practice to get it right. To do it better, to get it as close to perfect as we can.

Just because nobody's perfect at everything doesn't mean we're not good at something.
That's why it's always worth practicing. It's then you learn perseverance and can develop your talent.
Besides, the worst thing that could happen is you finding out you suck at the thing anyway. So then you can move on to something new!

So that we can allow ourselves to believe that if we practice hard enough, we just might become the first perfect person... It's sad to think that we have goals that we can never reach but continue to try anyway. Are we asking for disappointment, or what?

If you love to play (an instrument, game, sport, etc... ), you must love what you do... and if you love what you do... you should strive to be the best you possibly can at it... practicing - to me - is a respect to the art of music & respect to those who love to hear music... practice till you drop, but love what you do to get there ( a near perfection )... check the link for this book... its really good:
