I would choose Chiang Mai, in North Thailand, because of it's climate. The UK, at present, is too hot for me, (and too cold in the winter!) Chiang Mai, however, is a constant 28 deg c for practically the whole year! Even the rainy season is pleasant, but if it did start to get me down, I'd just move South to one of the islands for a couple of months. It's really cheap to live there too!

Money magazine just noted Ellicott City Maryland as the best place to live. Racially diverse, small town near 2 big cities, neighborly atmosphere, medium cost of living, low crime rate.

The Antrim Coast of Northern Ireland. It is the most breathtaking and beautiful place on earth and the pace of life is charming. Also my ancestors are from Northern Ireland so I always feel at home there.
