First of all every women has a smell...However taking good care of yourself(by bathing) and using sprays especially made for women's vaginal area it shouldn't be a problem unless she is having a very foul odor and discharge which could mean that she has some kind of S.T.D (sexually transmitted disease).Second of all douching is not good for you...It washes all the natural fluids from your body....So tell her to be checked for some illness and if she is negative, tell her to hit the lady aisle at the local supermarket and stock up on sprays and lotions...Then she can get hers........And her husband will be happy......NO DOUCHING!!!!!

Normal acidity keeps the amount of bacteria in the vagina down, and when a woman douches it changes that balance. I think the problem with douching is that some women over do it, and that leads them to other problems. It's possible she does need good feminine hygiene and maybe that's something she's never been used to doing. I find that a little hard to believe though, because it appears they have sex. Her husband seems to be someone that would say something if she smelled. Of course a foul smell & discharge is a red flag to see a doctor, but it's a possibility you've been duped. Maybe your boyfriends brother just doesn't want to go "downtown" and that's his excuse not to do it. A lot of guys will not do it, even if a woman smelled like an orchid with roses around it. Keep in mind that a woman is going to have a natural scent down there, and it's possible he just doesn't like it.

vagina's should not smell bad naturally and she may have an underlining infection causing that kind of odor. Her husband shoud come right out with it and suggest she goes to the doc to be investigated. It probably can be sorted out. Douching will only make things worse as it kills normal flora that helps to fight bacteria. I have heard of this kind of thing before and I am in the medical profession. Done a bit a gyne related work in the past.

Douching is not good. It gets rids of the natural bacteria in the vagina. Like someone else said your body gets rid of the bad bacteria on it's on and doesn't and shouldn't need any help.
If this odor is followed by any discharge of a foriegn color she needs to see a doctor ASAP! She may have an infection.

You know she may have a problem, have she been to see her doctor yet about it?
I think she should go see the doctor, and then there could be the one thing going on with her that no female wants to be and that is
What her guy is smelling is her I mean you know how all of us (females) have our own scent?
May be that is her scent and if so, there isn't much to do but, she can start with taking baking soda baths every other day, and also use female wipes at every chance she gets, but we are jumping the gun here, just tell her to go see her doctor first and take it from there.

Your vagina should be able to clean itself as long as you keep the exterior clean. Douching kills the good bacteria. A foul smelling vagina is a good indicator of an infection, she should consult a doctor, further, once cured, your brother could be a carrier and reinfect her, so she should mention this to her doctor.

Yes...have him tell her to change her diet.
- Coffee, alcohal, cigarettes chocolate, onions, garlic, processed and red meats and green tea are absolutely the worst things a person can eat when they want that sort of intimacy.
-She should cut things out of her diet one at a time and see if she notices any difference in her scent. Which also means she must use a mild non-perfumed soap downstairs, so she can tell the difference. She doesn't have to stop these things forever, a week in advance would do it.
- Have her drink more water and natural fruit juice as well
(orange/pineapple)
- finally have her lay off the over douching...it doesnt affect scent as much as one would think..and it wears protective cels off of the cervix which can lead to cervical cancer.

May be a yeast infection. Douching is not healthy as it removes too many "good" bacteria from the vagina. Perhaps a visit to the GYN is in order.

Maybe hes just a selfish prick and he needs to learn to give before receiving. I would also like to say Bronx should grow up if she thinks that the word Vagina is vulgar or immature.

RE:
Vagina stank?
It is true that your vagina smells bad if you don't wash it. But how and why would it smell bad if you do wash every day. Case in point... my b/f's brother says he can't go down on his wife because it smells bad. (how is it my business? I dunno maybe I'm the next closest chick to...
