pointe is a type of ballet where you dance up on the tips of your toes. a rather advanced type of ballet. you have to take ballet several years before doing pointe. and it's very hard on your feet, but generally considered beautiful.

Ok,
to be a professonial dancer you do not have to learn pointe! You can be a professional modern dancer or ballroom dancer and never put on a pointe shoe.
Ballet and pointe r not the same thing. One normally starts doing pointe around age 12(never earlier) when the ankels are more developed and stronger. You have to stand on a hard wood like block, sometimes for a long time. A pointe dancer's job is to make it look easy but its really difficult. AND PAINFUL! My toes bleed after I do pointe and my feet are soo ugly(most dancer's feet are). To do pointe you must have very good balance and strong pain tolerence :)
ballet is done with a soft shoe but is never the less difficult and requires strength as well as a lot of grace,
Good luck!

pointe is ballet. However, unlike ballet shoes which are flats, point shoes have a hard piece on the tip to enable the dancer to go up onto their toes. This is an advanced form of ballet and takes much work to come to pointe. ~

There is a huge difference between Pointe and Ballet...Pointe is a kind of ballet. And Ballet could either be Pointe or Flat shoes it but I will tell you about Pointe and Flat cuz Im on bothhh...
__FLAT__
Flat is when you start out like ive been dancing for eight years and Ive only been on Pointe for like 3 weeks. Flat is really really easy and You have to work your arch so that you are readdy for them or else you will never get on Pointe.
__POINTE__
Pointe is extremely hard @ first but with some help forom your instuctor you can easily master it properly and Just some advice dont rush it when your time comes it will come....All you have to do for pointe is strengthen your ankeles and build your arch!!!

A regular ballet shoe pretty much like a slipper, it's soft and easy to move around in. It's what beginners start using, until they are ready for pointe. A pointe shoe is made and constructed differently, each by hand, and it is very hard and flat on the end where you toes go, allowing you to stand and dance on pointe. They are much more dangerous than a ballet shoe, and it is very easy to give yourself tendinitis or to injure you arch, toes, or ankle. Though they are much prettier and more fun to watch. and they KILLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol : D Hope this helps!!!!

Point is part of ballet, dancing en pointe is the action of rising to the tips of the toes while performing steps from ballet technique. Also known as pointe work, it is performed using hard toed pointe shoes. Dancing en pointe requires considerable strength and skill and is central part of a ballerina's training and repertory, you start dancing en pointe when you reach a high level of ballet studies, you have to first dominate ballet steps getting on your toes, to acctually start using a pointe shoe

Pointe and ballet use the same techniques except with pointe you wear pointe shoes (you know the typical ballerina) and you dance on your toes.
Pointe is reserved for more advanced dancers.

pointe is ballet, but a more advanced form, where the women/girls wear special shoes so they can dance on thier toes. All the professional dancers in performances and such dance en pointe.
