If scientists were ever going to figure out how to travel through time, wouldn't we now be seeing people from the future?

Since the simple act of going back in time alters it, I doubt they would take a chance. The simple act of breathing the air could create or destroy generations of people. The person could breath in or exhale a bacteria or virus that could affect, or not, someone else, who than would affect others. He could move a small stone that may have otherwise killed someone, creating a new generation of people, or tripped someone, killing them, and all that person's future generations.

Ooh....There are a few theories for that one.
The most common one so far is that it can't. Time's too complicated and some believe tampering with it will create serious problems anyway.
Some others would say that they already are among us. We just don't know. But then again, UFO enthusiasts say the same about aliens.
Another possible one is that when someone travels back through time, they go to a different version of the past rather than ours because the fact that they're travelling there means that things could be changed. What that means is that any change in a timeline creates a new dimension. Maybe even our choices create dimensions as they go along. Think Chrono Cross or the Butterfly Effect.
I guess I would agree to your question in the end, though. But who knows?

Yes. Maybe it has been discovered but a group of people put a stop to it by going back and time and killing the inventor that made the technology and we can't see any evidence of this because it's in the future and hasn't happened yet

Yup, that's a pretty good proof that it can't happen.
Sci-fi writers get around this by having a variety of rules in place, such as you can't take things back to the future w/ you (even memories!) which is silly since everything is traveling to the future.
Or that we all forget our encounters w/ folks from the future.
Or that we live in such a boring time that we're ignored by people in the future.

Maybe there are people from the future around but they aren't telling anyone, I mean if you were from the future would you tell anyone?They would lock you up in a psych unit before you can say Time Travel.

they might be here now. maybe the geniuses of history were. Jesus might be from the future. if time travel is possible, it is happening now. if it is not then time is an illusion.

we are required to undergo extensive education in all the social customs, lingo, developments, fads, fashions and so on. in the past we are able to circulate to a distinctive era. the only real difficulty is finding sufficient water to ability the gadget.
