Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance?

lol didn't you know? A different location on the carpet makes all the difference. even if it's just an inch over... some parts of the carpet are more clingy than others. Plus, we had to make sure there was nothing wrong with the string. You know, make sure it didn't have any deformities or problems that would cause the vacuum to reject the string.....

because some people think that just because a device is designd to do something that it and it alone should do the job no matter how easy it may be to do otherwise.

because they want a new string. and they need something to destroy the old one first, so theyll have a reason to get it.
