If you're talking about Iraq, we never really "defeated" them. Our target was Saddam who was really (for lack of a better term) screwing the people over. We're rebuilding, yes, but we didn't make the mess. Besides, this is America. We have a good system that has made us the richest country in the world and we have alot of power. To quote Spiderman,"With great power comes great responsibility." It's even in the Declaration of Independence: " ...it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."
We have the ability to stop the abuses that were put onto these people: we did and we are. It is our duty as human beings to help one another.
Personally, I have a problem with sitting on a couch in an air conditioned house and the biggest concern I have is whether I've missed my show when there are families in poverty because a corrupt government isn't doing it's duty to it's people.

Because we're Americans. We're the punching bag of the rest of the world. The universal game is," Who can think of the nastiest way to insult Amenica "?
In the end they all come crawling up asking for American help. They want us to do their fighting, and dieing for them, then they ask for us to rebuild very thing, while they sit back and dream up bigger and better insults against us.
