I am sure Mexico would rather have a seismic event to completely separate themselves from the USA.

In fact the whole world would like to see the USA abducted by aliens, no wait sorry they already have been! Trouble is the Aliens returned them once they found out how useless they are!

I think the USA should apply to become part of Mexico, I thought most of their southern states were part of Mexico once.

So many people talk about "illegals" from Mexico, when you consider the USA took large parts of their country, perhaps americans need to consider exactly who are the REAL illegals!

Because it is a self governing country.

Why join the United States when it only acts for it's own selfish reasons. The US has just deliberately sabotaged the world trade talks because they thought any agreement might effect the next election in the states. Can you believe that? The world has been working for years to bring cheaper food into the shops, support foreign countries with trade instead of aid and bring greater stability to the planet.

With its flouting of international law, with Gitmo and rendition flights together with it's very biased dealings with the rest of the world it is alienating it's allies. Unless America starts changing fairly soon there is a real likelihood that countries will form new alliances leaving America out in the cold.

Mexico is much better off on it's own.

It's part of the US's plan for their economic trading bloc, NAFTAS (North American Free Trade Association) which also includes Canada. This is because of fear from the economic power of the European Union and the Tiger economies of the Pacific Rim.

South and Central American countries are pencilled in to be part of the group in future. Cynical me feels that the US and Canada will make the money while Mexico supplies the cheap labour.

The same Reason Ireland applys to be part of Britain(well apart from the IRA) so when the dossers need benifits they get them from the government. Mexico could not afford the american life without help same as ireland could n't afford to pay doll money from what they produce! And it is on the same soil!

Why on earth would anyone want to be a part of the USA...? I'm sure that Mexico would rather rot in poverty before they do that.

I see a lot of people saying why would Mexico want to be a part of the US.

I say I don't want Mexico to be a part of the US and I don't care if they want to. They have their country and we have ours.

Because they don't want to be subject to the same worldwide hatred that the USA so much enjoys. Who really wants to hang out with a bully apart from other bullies.
