"Thins your blood" isn't really why aspirin and ibuprofen help treat headaches. When you're in a state of inflammation, your body produces something called arachidonic acid. Arachidonic acid can then go down one of two pathways. One of these is called the "Cyclooxygenase pathway" whereby arachidonic acid produces certain inflammatory mediators including prostaglandins, which are responsible for pain. This is why aspirin and ibuprofen are good at decreasing your pain, but they cannot always completely cause it to go away--the lipoxegnase pathway is not affected by aspirin and ibuprofen. Hope this helps you understand.

Try just putting a cold washcloth on your forehead and then relaxing. The cold compress draws the headache out.

Tylenol - and what's this about a "suspected" peptic ulcer? That's very easy to diagnose and treat - it takes five days of antibiotics, period.
