I sign in at work using my personal ID, not a different one! So that can't be the issue. I can't understand it, my internet connection at home is dial up cause we cant get hi speed there, but work is hi speed. could that be a problem? It has not been before! This has just started this week, and I am very up-set over it. Somebody help me please!!!

Things to check:
1) Firewall blocking access
2) Your dial-up ISP is blocking it... Make sure the dial-up ISP allows that service

Does that mean you could connect at home before? Do you have a firewall? Does your messenger have firewall permission at home to connect? Is your password or ID case sensitive (IE caps or lowercase?) What is done differently at work and home? Do you sign off properly at work? Some or all IM clients will not allow simultaneous connections. Check it all out. Good luck!

Most likely a file has become corrupted in your yahoo information. My suggestion would be to uninstall/reinstall yahoo messenger, just make sure you stick with 7.5.
For some reason, unknown to mortal man, every now and then, you just have to do the uninstall/reinstall. There's no rhyme nor reason, it just happens.

I assume you are using the beta version with which there are apparently still problems.
