if she wont eat the meal you made send her to bed with no dinner
in the morning place the same plate of food in front of her for breakfast
when she is hungry enough she will eat what is put in front of her
AND DO NOT GIVE HER SWEETS OR FAST FOOD UNTIL SHE EATS THE MEAL YOU MADE
GOOD EATING HABITS FOR THE CHILD IS THE PARENTS RESPONSIBILITY

i would first discuss this with her dad [ so you dont end up being the bad guy ] both of you sit down and come to an agreeance on how it will be handled .
with my own kids i make one meal , if they choose not to eat it at that time they can go to bed , at which point if they complain they are hungry they are more than welcome to eat their plate of food , eat not pick at it !
if she doesnt eat it i would then tell her if she can not eat it all foods that have sugar in it or fast foods will be forbidden . no more sugar cereal for breakfast , she would then be offered her leftovers for breakfast .
something else to try would be just dont make her a plate . tell her you didnt bother because you didnt want to waste your time or good food . just let her sit there and watch everyone eat , but tell her that if she wants some she can make herself a plate [or if too young you can make one for her]
do you include her in making the meals ? maybe let each child choose the meal for one night and tell her that she only gets her meal if she eats what everyone chose for the other nights .
i am lucky , my kids eat everything i make and i make some things most other kids dont or wont eat. my kids actually get excited when they see spinach set out for dinner . but i do include them in the dinner choices and we dont eat processed foods like chicken nuggets or hot dogs for dinner and oddly they never ask for them and if by an off chance they are made they ask me why i didnt cook a real meal for them .
i think she is just testing you for 1 . you are not her mom , and when it comes to that situation it is rough . and 2 her mom may be the fast food drive thru type who couldnt cook a simple meal to save her own *** .
just have patience , be understanding , and stand your ground !
she wont starve herself . and good luck !

I don't know. I'm like your daughter and so are my sisters because my mom hates cooking, but she and my dad are not picky eaters at all. I hate being a picky eater and I wish I could try new foods but I dont like them and if I try them I get sick. It's hard to go to restaurants because I don't like a lot of things. I don't like any kind of seafood and forget trying foods from other countries. I would love to go to a Chinese restaurant and eat but I can't. Do your daughter a favor and introduce her to all types of foods. As a college student I have trouble figuring out what to eat for dinner and it's not like college students have much choice to begin with, especially living in a dorm with no kitchen. Good luck. If she is young it will be hard at first but it'll get easier. Unfortunately it's too late for me.

There has to be house rules. Everyone eats the same thing everyday. Fast food should be on occasion only. She should be made to try each and everything you prepare, even it it is only 2 or 3 bites. I hope you have her father to back you up.

So don't buy sweets and fast food.
Serve her healthy food and eventually she'll get hungry enough to eat it.

ok well you should do what my mom tries. take all the food that she normally eats out of your house. and take away all her money so she won't go to a fast food place. so if she's hungry, she'll what you serve her. and if she's hungry, she'll eat it. unless she wants to starve. and if she says she rather starves, then go ahead and let her starve. trust me it works!
