There are a lot of ways to check it. The most traditional way is to go to your nearest bank and tell ur account no. to the cashier.Or u can ask for e-banking or mobile banking ways at your enquiry. Or u can even check it by using your A.T.M card.

If you actually want to see the money go to a bank. If you want to see it paid into the account check online or on phone or the bank's help-line.

you can call up phone banking if you have the TPIN, you can check it online if you have the net banking PIN. You van do a balance enquiry or a mini statement request if you have an ATM debit card or you can walk into the bank with your passbook and check it there via the cashier.
for future services , get yourself subscribed to Bank's email/SMS alert facility thus if there is any transaction with your account, you Will the receive the alert within few hours

Check with your bank of course.
But if the money is a scam, the bank may recover the full sum back from you should you spent them too early. Furthermore you might be in trouble with the law.
