Definitely a noun. It is a place (nouns are persons, places, things, and ideas) where Pam bought the sweater. Yard is an adjecive describing what type of sale it was.

Nothing to be confused or scared of. Muslims have a global brotherhood so there are many races, languages and customs. Almost all of these sects have no religious significance. They are cultural and racial differences not religious. All of these "sects" believe in the same five pillars and the same books. I'm a former Christian myself and well traveled. Anyone asks "what I am" I say "Muslim" end of story. It's only if your talking Indian/Pakistani or Persians that culture becomes a hot topic as some people have some customs that are not well liked. Anyway. to clear up your issues and get you thinking straight, pick up a copy of "What everyone needs to know about Islam" by John Esposito. It's a straight forward account of the religion, history, the followers and the different customs and cultures. Just one of many books I would recommend to a start up Muslim
