go to it on your start bar, right click internet explorer, click send to desktop, or just drag it.

You mean the windows explorer icon? click on start - All programs - Accessories. right click on windows explorer icon and drag and drop on to the desktop empty space and leave the right click there you will get the options of creat shortcut.

when you open up your internet explorer, right click on the title of the home page you use, then click on copy shortcut. Go to your desktop, right click again, and choose paste shortcut.
