youre all uneducated yankee morons :D (ive been wanting to say that for a long time). The point of having a head of state is so that too much power is not given to the president. For eg. the australian prime minister cant vetoe a lower house decision. More importantly, reserve powers, for when a country falls into crisis are best held with a neutral party (governor general) rather than the president (we see how george bush abuses his powers). Why dont you yanks read something instead of watching the OC so much. mwahahahahaha!!

For my Country of Canada it is to avoid a despotic system in the vacuum of any other official head of state should that come about. It creates the stability that good governance must have. Consider this as well, we've pledged allegiance to Her Majesty; regardless of any personal feelings about monarchy we do not take this lightly; it is our word.

The same as keeping her as head of state for England, Ireland, etc. She's a figurehead everywhere. A purely ceremonial, traditional figure.

Keeps the coin printing business to a mininum expense as they can use the same picture for the coins. When this one dies I'm sure the dollar is going to go up because they need to put another queen's face on them!
Costs, costs, costs!!!

It relies upon on what you're looking for. i ought to assert Canada's generic well being care and absence of terrorist assaults and gun violence, make it extra ideal than the U.S. The U.ok. is reminiscent of many eu international places with a much smaller part of land. also compared to lots of the international, they force on the left! o_o My opinion: Canada, U.S., U.ok.

The monarch is head of the Commonwealth. That is why she is still head of state in those countries, and a number of others that you didn't mention.

i think she is more a figurehead than anything else nowadays. she's kind of a good will ambassador, and, the english do love tradition. i'm not from england, however, so i could be wrong. there's nothing wrong with tradition, it maintains a continuity that feels safe.
