should we now just decide that israel has had a fair crack of the whip (no pun intended) and now that state should be dissolved with a free palestine created. (with swathing powers over an underfed, low-waged, poorly sheltered israeli state crammed into the 10 square miles near haifa)
lets give the palestinians a go.. the israelis have really cocked it up..
and totally abused their superiority

It never had a fair crack of the whip; it had an unfair shot of the pistol.
Yes, since its creation with the help of England and allies, Israel has invaded the region, evicted thousands of people already living there, and oppressed them all. They have rallied support for their misguided cause from the West, who are religiously associated with them (as Judeo-Christian, and you can see this from the above answer). All these wars occurred because the people who had an actual right to live in the area were pissed that suddenly these other people stole their lands. You might say that hey, that land is holy land for the Jews. However, I might as well say that it's just as holy for the Muslims who had already been living there. It's not like Judaism is more legitimate than Islam.
The only reason Israel is still in existence is because Western countries have given them billions of dollars in support. I think that they support Israel either because they think that the Jewish religion is more legitimate or (unfortunately) that the white skin of Israelis is superior to the dark skin of Palestinians, etc. They're wrong though, and it's very unjust for Israel to still be there.
What the Israelis ought to do is move out of where they are now and establish a state in a place where people are willing to give them land. It's not like they have a right to be there; just because Western countries tell them they could be where they are now doesn't mean they should be there. Indeed, anyone with a brain will resist them. Even Theodor Herzl, the man who started the Zionist movement that wanted to make a state for European Jews, suggested that they go to Australia instead of this holy land. So I'm sure that although Israel shouldn't be around there anymore, the Israelis can live on, and should move to a different place.
Then again, I doubt anything will change. Israel will continue masquerading with its so-called superiority to the people who actually have a right to be there. (You can go even further by saying that even before ancient Israel was made, the Israelis invaded the region and drove out the people living there such as Canaanites.) And the corrupt West will continue to support it. I'm against both sides of the conflict, but I don't think Israel belongs there.
Indeed, it's had all its "chances," and the only reason they would even have this so-called superiority is because the Western countries gave them monetary support. This may not end for a long time though.

Note: To address some of the nice yet incorrect answers of Israel supporters, should you support someone just because the other side will kill you? No, the enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend; in fact, it's probably my enemy as well. Of course, if you're a corrupt Westerner, you will continue to support Israel, and will call all others anti-Semitic and terrorists. No wonder Hezbollah, etc., wants you dead: you will never change your foolish opinion, so the only way to stop you is to kill you. You are being a fool. As for people living in Israel, yes, you will support your country's actions, and realize that letting Arabs take over your country is impractical. And that's why invading the region in the first place was a mistake. That's sad.

You all seem to be a bunch of Anti-Semitics. There are two sides to everything a right and a wrong side. The Islamic extremists in hezbollah are on the wrong side, they hate the Israelites because they are not muslim period, dot, end of story. Israel gives up land and they are attacked, they make concessions and they are attacked. Israel has never provoked or instigated any of these attacks. You as Americans (if you consider yourself American) should be ashamed. The same muslim fundamentalist who's side you are taking now wants you dead, simply because you are a Christian, Jew, or even agnostic. They would slit YOUR throat in a minute if they had the chance. Wake UP!

Would that solve the problem unless you have been brought up in this situation it is easy to comment.
I am not meaning to appear rude but Israel is my home and having lived there through all that is going on I am not going to give up lie down and surrender.

Should we just say OK let the rest of the world destroy us because this would be no solution, also let me point out I have friends who are Arabs so please do not judge us on just being killing machines, we need to survive but war is nasty and unfortunately it is the innocent as well as the trouble makers that are caught in the cross fire.

Maybe the saying Walking a day in other mans shoes is apt before jumping to conclusions.
Both sides are to blame in my views and from experience I see it from a different perspective.

its a nice idea but what would be the logic in punishing the country in violation of more UN resolutions than any other? isnt it more cost effective to continue giving $2.4billion dollars in security assistance of your own peoples tax money, especially when you know its going to be spent with companies that you actually have shares with.
