don't be upset, she's probably jealous of you, now she has more responsibility, and the fact that she has to get married just because she's pregnant? in my opinion you cant right a wrong with another mistake. You should marry for love and commitment for each other not just by accident

I don't know of any one who is married who looks down on single women. Your friend may have just thought you might be happy like she must be. No one can look down on you without your permission. Hold your head up high and enjoy your life for what it is. Somewhere along the line someone special may come into it when you are ready and things may change. Or maybe not, either way you are just as good as your friend. You just have to believe that you are.

We don't look down on single women, in actual fact some of us are jealous that you still have freedom to "play the field". And your friend, nor anyone else, should not be belittling you for your freedom and I'd say she did so cause she's now stuck with a marriage and a child therefore is just jealous.

Keep waiting!!! I am married for 10 years now, and after the first 6 months "honeymoon period/phase" I have been regretting it. Now I have kids, and regret it even more. Can't change it, though. Her view will change when baby pops out and reality arrives. Good luck!

We don't. its just that people all seem to get married around the same time. She has done her wedding now she wants to help you with the fun of planning yours. I'm sorry if your friends comment made you feel bad, but it probably wasn't meant as a judgement call.

I think some people still think that ALL women should marry. I got offended on my sister's wedding when a friend of my father's asked when I'd find a guy to "purchase" me. He was joking, but his remarks really offended me.

I first wanted to say competition -
But she has just experienced the 'next step' in life and is still in the honeymoon phase of it. Pay her no never mind now - remind her after baby comes and she wonders what she got herself in to. Be there for her then...

For some odd reason they feel they have a superior edge. At heart they are still competing with other women, they don't handle competition very well and this spills over as nastiness.

I envy single women some times. I miss having male friends.

They are silently hating that they could be free like the single ones.
