Ease your mind, it is not as uncommon as you might think. The age at which you reach menarche (start your period) is directly related to your amount of body fat and your level of activity. Some argue that heredity plays a role to a certain extent. The more athletic and lean ladies often do not reach such until high school. Please do not be in such a rush and attempt to enjoy it while you can...

The best way would be do not discuss your personal things with your friends. The period usually is not an open topic in conversation so i would not worry about it. You are going into the 8th grade so it is a matter of time you will begin this awful thing, and i would make sure u have protection on hand in case u do start as the most embarresing thing is starting, and having an accident through your pants.
You should feel very happy u have not started this as nobody looks forward to doing this every month. I started mine in 7th grade and i hated it. enjoy your menstrual free life right now as once u do get it it will stay with u for a very long time.

FEEL LUCKY! I don't know why young girls put such pressure on starting your period but sweetie, trust me, once it starts you will be griping about having the dang thing! The only way anyone will know if you have it or not is if you tell them. Don't worry about what they think and if they wanna laugh, they aren't your friends anyway! Don't worry about not having it yet, it is normal for girls to start at different ages. If you are very concerned you can always talk to an adult or ask your mom. You will usually start around the same time that your mom did. Otherwise don't sweat it and enjoy the freedom!!!

Girls can start their periods anywhere between the ages of 8 and 18. You're 13? Don't worry about it, and be happy that you don't have to put up with that every month yet. (I started at 11 and my sister at 9 ... after 20+ years for both of us, the end is still nowhere in sight!).
If you are overweight or super thin, your weight could be an issue in beginning your menses. If you think it might be health related, ask your mom to take you to the doctor. If nothing else, the doc should be able to check your hormone levels to see what's going on.

This is normal, girls start their periods at different times. Why should anyone laugh anyway, it is a normal human function. Laughing would show ignorance or maybe it is the other girls way of saying, oh boy are you in for something. Forget about it, in time it will come and if not then see a gynocologist who can help you with those sorts of situations.

Well, first how are your friends and schoolmates going to know unless you tell them? It's not like you have a giant "P" stamped on your forehead when you start. For all they know you have tampon in.
Beyond that, have you been evaluated by your doctor yet? There are medications that can bring on your periods, if indicated, but it just may be that you are a late bloomer. Either way, you'll feel better knowing. I'd go get evaluated and put your mind at rest.

There is nothing to be scared of, everyone's body works slightly different, I have a friend who started her period when she was 17 and she's quite normal and everything... so don't worry sooner or later it's gonna come:)

they won't know unless you tell them. It is OK if you haven't yet, as long as you get it between the ages of 9-18 you are fine. Everyone is different and you can't control when you will get your period for the first time.

People start at different times. I started mine in 8th grade. So, maybe you'll be soon. My friend didn't start hers until sophomore year. Everyone's bodies are different.
