I don't know. I wish prostitution was legal or porn illegal. The laws in this country contradict other laws. This countries laws needs consistancy. I guess because it would be hard to regulate putting taxes on prostitution to those "independent" prostitutes out there. Just like marijuana. The authorities are seriously not too concerned about pot smokers, they are more concerned of the fact that it would be hard to make money off the sales with so many independant dealers.

You're right. It makes very little sense. The only logical reason would be because a prostitute can spread disease to many customers. Although a porn star can also spread disease, both parties involved in the sex are paid workers who have signed contracts and admit to fully understanding the risks.
The more-likely reason is that people want the rest of society to live by their morals. There are laws on the books in many states regarding what kinds of sex you are allowed to have. Granted, they're rarely enforced these days, but they're still there.

prostitution is not illegal everywhere and making porn is not legal in every state either. It all depends on what the state government makes a law. If you don't like it write one of you state congressmen. Not to be confused with the congressman from your state.
Neither of those is covered at all in the constitution so it is up to each state to make laws about them.

Prostitution is illeagal because it is hard to tax a service. But porn is legal because they can track from publisher to consumer and they do tax it. You are right that they U.S. is backward in a lot of ways but what the heck, it is a revenue thing.

Prostitution is legal in nevada....., Pornography is not illegal unless dealing with minors, eighteen and you can buy porn almost anywhere, except a church, although now a days you never know.....

prostitution involves illegal trafikcing of girls across the country and also interenational, make them slaves so it is gud to be illegal, but ponography is a million doller business, espicially online, though some torture cases are involved less harmful compared to prostitution i think.
