There has been growing demand for the UI designer but I don’t know why? Could it be considered as a career?
Please guide me.
Thanks

GUI stands for

Graphical User Interface, and is basically the way in which the computer screen can be used using graphics instead of text.

For example: The yahoo answers website has lots of big buttons "eg ask, answer, discover" These are options using graphical format.

A GUI also extends to things like windows, where windows uses things like:

icons, menus, toolbars, mouse pointer etc etc etc

GUI encompasses everything except text commands like you would have in MSDOS for example.

The design is of importance because it has to be tailored to the type of user you are aiming at. For example, kids would prefer large buttons in primary colours, whereas a technician would want to see more details on the screen

There are certinaly jobs available in this area. From jobs ranging from:

Computer games design
Program design
Website design
etc.etc.

GUI stands for Graphical User Interface, and is simply an easy-to-navigate menu structure in which things are more "visual" in nature.

Instead of having lots of text, pictures and icons are used. It's the old saying "A picture is worth a thousand words" applied to computer navigation.

Making it easy for users to get around and find things is always best, so a UI (User Interface) should be designed to accomplish this.
