Well if you are like me you get tired of eating all the regular city cafes..so my husband bought the book "Off The Beaten Path." which tells you about little hide aways and eatery's that are out of the way and good...examples..Bonges..out in the county north east of Indianapolis..the chef used to be at the Glass Chimney..food is excellent..small, the waitstaff are great..there are several places in Noblesville a Italian place...can't remember the name, also the LA Cafe in Whitestown...little, quaint, good food..get the book and make it a girls trip for the day...

Au Cote D'Argent, Calais, France. The owner is also the chef, he whips up the most amazingly delicious, yet simple dishes all made from local fresh produce. Try the langoustines or the lobster. He goes to so much effort in making everything he serves perfect. After the main course, there's a cheese cart which is stacked with a huge abundance of delicious cheeses, and to follow the dessert cart - where all of the desserts are home made and you can choose 3-4 options. He even goes to the trouble of making the madeleines and chocolate truffles for coffee himself. Second choice - Feta's Corner, Paphos, Cyprus. It's a little smoky in here, but the full meze is delicious. Similar to the Spanish tapas, they bring out atleast 20-25 small dishes for you to share. The place doesn't look like much from the inside or the out, but the cook in the kitchen can definitely cook.

Depends on the type of food. There is a great new Turkish restaurant called the Bosphoros (sp?) If you like good ol' fashioned hoosier food go to the Peppy Grill in fountain square.

My personal favorites are Sullivan's Steakhouse at Keystone, Maggiano's, and of course the Cheesecake Factory...

There's also some great ones in downtown Indianapolis, like Rock Bottom Brewery or if you have some money to burn, St. Elmo's Steakhouse (best steaks ever)

I have to agree with another, Maggiano's is some of the best Italian food around. Also, because that I am a sucker for Italian, I would have to say one of the best places to try is Buca Di Beppo, downtown & greenwood
