I totally disagree with the person above... Its true that Adelaide hasnt got a lot for tourists but it is the best place to live... friendly, not too big, easy for foreigners to get around. The nightlife and nightclubs arent as good as the other cities, but as a married man i doubt thats what ur after... its a pretty and safe city.. im 23 and have lived in 3 countries of the world and 3 places in Australia and i love Adelaide... as for work its not too hard to pick up work if u have skills in something.....

Adelaide is a wonderful city. Not to big and not to small. The people are generally very welcoming and considerate.
It’s an easy city to get around in and has fairly good reliable public transport system. As for work it depends on what you’re looking for but there are plenty of job opportunities for those that are willing to work.
I moved from Eastern Victoria to a small town about 20 minutes drive from Adelaide city about 3 ½ years ago and apart from commodities such as electricity, gas, vehicle registration all being more expensive, I love it here.

I know an Indian lady who used to live in Adelaide. She met her husband there and they moved to Melbourne. Adelaide is a small city and is a long way from any large city. (Not that we have large cities in the sense that you do in India). If you want to live in a good city I would recommend Melbourne. It is an attractive city and it's handy for lots of nice places to go to. I think there is less crime too than Adelaide although there has been a lot of organised crime activity in the last couple of years. But it seems that's true of everywhere. Adelaide's hotter than Melbourne too.

Do not move to Adelaide. It is very unfriendly to Indians. You should stay in India or move to Bangaladesh, Pakistan or Afthanistan where you will not stand out in a crowd. Also, in
Adelaide they only speak native aboriginal languages and absolutely have banned curry so you will starve. The only work for people from in India in Adelaide is petrol station attendants and toilet cleaners. Most seriously, Indian women with the dot on their heads are often held down to have the dot scratched off. There is a rumor in Adelaide that you can scratch the dot off and tell if you have won a petrol station, a convience store or a crummy motel.

I used to live in Sydney and now live in Adelaide. Adelaide is great for a slightly slower pace, and particularly good for families. I wouldn't particularly recommend it for young singles (although for uni study it would be excellent). It's considerably cheaper and there are still plenty of facilities, jobs etc. It's nowhere near as multicultural, which is one aspect of Sydney I miss, and it doesn't have Sydney's spectacular beauty and vibrancy.

Adelaide is the most boring city in Australia, it should be called city of pensioners! Theres not much work and its never fulltime. There is work for Taxi Drivers thats about it, theres nothing to do in this town, try Melbourne or Brisbane, they are vibrant, beautiful cities with lots of work and potential for anything, trust me Adelaide is dead, nothing is open on the weekend, theres no where to go, BORINGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!

There isn't much to do there but work. Public transport is non-existent on weekends....and the shops don't open until lunch-time...yep, it's a tough life.
