Is System get damaged when using TV Tuner Cards.?

i am using External TV Tuner Card in my system. My friend told that using the TV Tuner Card will decrease the life of the picture tube of the System.is it True..Please give suggestion .

been using one for years, never ever had a monitor issue.

I've been using TV tuner adapters for years...no problems with my monitor. The monitor's life will depend on how much it is used, not so much on what it is displaying.

Not by using atleast . May be due to mis handling
