EWWW!!!!!! The Red Sox did NOT deserve to win last night!! It was just luck and I predict that the Red Sox will loose tonight! Go A's and go Yankees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was good to see Beckett pitch well tonight, but I think many of you are simply wrong to think he's having a good season.
Yes, he has 13 wins, but wins are an arbitrary number that are completely dependant on things like run support, defensive play, etc. They're nice to have, and you want a steady winner, but to think he's doing better than another guy because he "has more wins" is just stupid.
Hopefully, Beckett has turned the corner and will settle down in the second half. He can get by with this stuff in the regular season, but the Sox can't afford to have one of their aces giving up 5 runs a game come playoff time.

O.k. Red Sox won. They beat a great pitcher. However I rather have Zito over Beckett anyday. The next two days Oakland will have a tough time with Schilling but will win at least one out of the next two. But does it really matter? In the end the Yankees come out on top. Just my thoughts. Now I'll probably get yelled at by lil miss redsoxfan

beckett has been better then Zito?....not so much
Beckett's era is 4.77 compared to Zito's 3.52
Beckett has given up 28 homeruns compared to Zito's 15
Beckett has more wins simply because he gets better run support and plays for a better team. Zito lost 4 straight decisions where he didnt give up more then 3 runs, thats pitiful.
Also, Zito beat Beckett last week when Beckett gave up like 7 runs in 4 innings ( I was there). Zito is having a much better year then Beckett...and I'm a Red Sox fan

Beckett looked good for his second straight start which was nice to see because his ERA is a bit higher that what I would hope but he has the win totals. It was nice to see Manny and Ortiz homer in the same game yet again, and Alex Gonzalez got us off to a nice start with HR. His great defense and steadily improving offense(almost .400 avg over the last month and a half) make him the most underrated player in baseball and a key guy for us down the stretch. Hopefully the Sox can finish out the sweep and scores runs early again so I do not have to stay up to 1 in the morning.

It was a very good performance from the Sox last night... I never really thought Zito would be able to beat Beckett... Beckett is much better than Zito this year.

Hey redsoxfan.....I'm very proud of him and he DESERVES the credit. All you haters of Josh Beckett know he's an awesome pitcher and yes, he got the win WITH his excellent support from the other players because they play as a TEAM. If you've ever seen any interviews, they all respect each other and compliment each other as well!!
I'm not worried about Schilling tonight..........they'll continue to win and stay on top!!
