The USA has is not and has never been a civilised country. With the whole of the country being as obese as it is, and with another three-quarters of its population dropping out in high school, there is really very little that constitutes it as being 'civilised'. Furthermore, the USA is the biggest bully worldwide and continues to use meaningless force and pressure to crush small and powerless countries. It is a real shame that people even consider the USA to be a superpower in the first place, when three-quarters of the country couldn't even point to you another country on the world's map. The USA is basically a disgrace to all civilized people on the planet.

Next time you ask this type of question, could you elaborate more what you define as ''mentally handicapped'' and what you are drawing you sources from to make the question. Is the USA a civilised country - define civilised. I'll tell you what Americans are though - alot of them are ignorant - I draw from a source of info to make that statement. Do you or anyone reading this answer remember when Madonna was trying to publish a book of childrens stories and the media scrum asked her something a long the lines of how she thinked her book would compare with Enid Blyton - the answer came back who is Enid Blyton ?

What difference does that make...certainly not to the mentally handicapped as he hasn't a clue. There is, after all, a defined fine line by which lawyers are able to label their clients mentally handicapped in order to obtain lesser sentencing. If their defense fails, it is no fault of the government to commence with the punishment.

I think a more profound question is, "Is the USA civilised when it kills innocent unborn children?" Many of whom are also executed b/c they will be mentally handicapped.

Yes, the USA is a civilized country. Do they do immoral things? Yes, sometimes. But think about the other countries out there. I bet you would be really suprised at what you would find out about other countries and their governing powers. I, myself, am proud to be an american. I am proud to live in the US and I am proud to have George Bush as my president.

in case you'll settle for this definition, "having a complicated subculture, society, and so on. to be polite, properly bred, subtle." i ought to might want to admit, some persons are, yet those who're no longer, are increasing in selection, daily. God Bless
