Humans die because that is the nature of life. Our bodies age--they get saggy, they become infirm, and they become weak. Who want to keep living in that condition? Who really wants to take care of a world full of helpless beings? Death is often a blessing.

I always believed we were put on this earth to learn something--like some cosmic secret--some mysterious spiritual revelation. I think that when we discover the answer, our time here is done and our spirits move on. Some people understand the minute they are born--some people never understand. I don't think you should force yourself to believe in something / some entity, just to get a so-called "eternal life." After all, people who believe in God don't always live long lives, do they? I have always believed that there are spirits--good and bad spirits. I am not sure if the good spirit is the Christian concept of "God," or that the so-called Heaven that we have been promised is really there. How easy is it to be brainwashed into seeing a picture of what things might be like? Do you think Christ really looks like his portraits? Are we really to believe there are Pearly Gates in Heaven? Do we really go to Milton's Hell if we are bad?

You obviously have some problems with faith and with who / what you are ( a human being that has a limited time to live his/her life) I think you should explore--get in touch with your spiritual side--not to get a reward, but to get the answers for which you are seeking. No one but you can know what beliefs will bring you comfort or where you can find your spiritual self. Will it be in "God"? If you don't think so, then look at other beliefs and other traditions concerning afterlife. When you finally do come to terms with your doubts, you will find the journey to your spirit, and the peace that comes to you after you find it will help you overcome your fear of moving on. The trick is to look outside yourself, in order to find something bigger than yourself.

People die so others can be born. (or yeah the world would be over populated). If you think about the reincarnation theory, then dying isn't so bad because you become one of those that get born. I don't think you have to believe God or any certain religion (although it wouldn't hurt if you did) to believe that our spirit or soul is an energy source that is inside these bodies, and although the body dies the spirit does not, and the spirit goes on indefinitely.

That sounds boring only because while in this body we are limited in our ability to see or remember or know what is beyond this life. We don't know all the limitless possibilities of the universe, or how many dimensions there are past the third dimension, or what we can do in a life without being imprisoned in the human body.

I think keeping an open mind to possibilities beyond our knowledge level or understanding is a good place to start

People suffer enough on earth. If you believe there is a God and a heaven then they go up there to get away from all of that suffering.

If you believe in reincarnation then maybe they die so they can come back and maybe have a chance at a better life than they had before.

If you believe that they just die and nothing happens after then once again, they suffer enough on earth and it is time for them to have a break.

If you believed in the Bible this is the reason that people die. Because when Adams and Eve Disobeyed God it lead the outcome of death. The main reason people died is because of their sins. According to Roman 6:23- for the wages sins pay is death, but the gift God give is everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
As we can see human died because they have all sined.

well - it's becouse electro-chemical reactions
which stop normaly of producing enought of needed things for body / mind.

Well - if we found a way to "RECHARGE" them - we can become imortal for sure .

But then - the earth shall be overpopulated just for 10 years , and mass wars will take place .. .so - let's first find some other places to live on .. than we can become importals ( at least in time )

but i doubt that someone shall share formula of imortals , even if he found it, just because the mather of this main problem ...

Well - good luck NASA ! i can say - U do it for all human kind.

We are put on this earth to die. That is the ultimate goal here. But you can have eternity if you believe.

Our bodies wear out.

Believe whatever makes you a better person now, and gives you comfort in the next.
