If you really want to be technical about this, there is NO communications which is secure. Even face to face communications with someone in a desolate area can be monitored with high powered listening devices, and if you try to create background noise to shield your conversation, electronics have gotten so advanced that they just filter out the noise, and you still can be heard.Such is the price for tecnological advances. You get something, but you also give up something else.

How do you want to communicate? Voice in real time (phone)? Text in real time (instant messaging)? Text with a delay (email)? Here are some ideas, but without more clarification, there's no one answer:

"Pretty Good Privacy" Well worth the $50. There is also a free gnuGP out there. However, it's not as user friendly.

a custom encryption system based on "one time" keys where there is no predictability to the next key to be used - this is more secure than public key encryption
