I once wrote a essay on time travel when i was in grade school and i did it with a ... very unsual time machine.... kind of a time machine in a box. wherever it went it had to land in a closet or something at least the size of one.
I always thought, to visit the crucifiction and bring back part of the cross or the thorn crown.

First, I would make sure that I took a lot of cash with me. While I was in the past, I would buy a hot car and take it back to me into the future. Then it would be in mint condition and worth scads more than what I paid for it. I would also bring back stock certificates for companies that are insanely profitable.

I'd do a Biff Tannen and take a sports almenac and make a damn fortune on it.
When i get banned from every bookies in the world then i'll take my winnings and buy into that little company (as it will be at the time) MICROSOFT and then just sit back and watch the money roll in

First of all, great question! Second, it would have to be something that would work in the past so my cell phone would be out. I think I would bring video clips (8mm of course) to show the people of the past what the world of today looks like and they can see it first hand rather just hear my descriptions of it.

I thought, my mobile, then after re thinking, there would be No network, so that would be pretty pointless. But If your talking about going way back! I would buy a pair of reading glasses, many people where blind in the olden days, everyone would be fascinated!

how can u go back to the future but back in time, if u r going back to the future you're going back to to time after now so therefore going forwards in time :)
I'd bring back an animal and compre them to the animal of this time, see how they have changed over the years

I'd go back to the time of jesus, watch and observe, and then see what would happen if I took the story and the bible out of existence, I think we would be better off
