My cat - a creature of ill deed and wicked intent - has recently started wearing frilly French knickers, six-inch stilettos and pink lipstick. Should I be worried about his transvestite pretensions?

I suggest you have little to worry over. The entire issue can be cleared by allowing your kitty a night on the local fence, to soon be joined by others of his species (no I didn't say his "kind")

There he will swoon over a burly TOM, who, unlike your kitty, has little tolerance for such behavior, and will likely exhibit that feeling.

At some point, later that night, or by early morning, you should hear your kitty whining to be allowed in. Partly out of embarrassment, and in part from stress.

Be kind, don't scold,,,he has learned a valuable lesson. Do however be extremely gentle as you remove the stiletto heel from his posterior, from beneath what will surely be a pair of very soiled knickers.

Offer a bit of food, some ointment perhaps, a story, and allow him to nurse his wounds, his pride, and his confusion.

Not in the least. Cats are this way. Vile creatures really, one of Satan's pawns. They exist to irk and ire. And don't cross one. You will pay dearly.

Let him dance, let him drink, let him cross dress and womanize. His actions are only to cause you ill. Ignore all this. Soon, he will grow bored with it and either go back to lap sitting and scratching your furniture or he may take up playing a pan flute.

I'd sit him down and have a quiet word, maybe explain that its ok in the privacy of his own room, but not where others can see him. Maybe help him look on the internet for sites where he can talk to others. My cat went through a stage of wearing my underwear, but he soon grew out of it!

Tisk, tisk. It's obvious, isn't it? The simple way to correct this problem (or maybe get your eyes clawed out, who knows?) is to steal his copy of Rocky Horror Picture Show and burn it, scattering the ashes in the ocean.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, could be a stage he's going through.
How about you get him some nice male outfits, something from the Victorian era, he could still have the frills, yet look masculine.
