hes just suggesting that the Yankees trade A-Rod, u and me both know that A-Rod won't get traded so don't let it bother you, the man has the right to voice his opinion. i was listening to ESPN Radio yesterday and someone said the Yankees would trade A-Rod to the Cardinals for Scott Rolen and a prospect, its not gonna happen so let these people voice their opinion.

Phillips' comments shouldn't surprise anyone, because he's been saying moronic things ever since he made his first appearance on that show. I'll give a couple of examples:

1) When asked who should start the All-Star game this year, he picked Jose Contreras because of his undefeated record. Never mind the arbitrariness of wins and losses, the number of no-decisions sprinkled in there, or the not-great ERA.

2) When asked to pick the best lefty pitcher in the game, he chose.....Cliff Lee. Never mind that the Twins have two guys who are far, far better than Lee, including the Cy Young Award winner from last year and perhaps this year's eventual winner.

3) He claimed that the Podsednik-Carlos Lee deal was good for both teams. Granted, the White Sox won the Series, but did Podsednik's .700 OPS really do much to help? Or could it have been the meat of that lineup, along with great pitching? If you have to choose between Podsednik and Lee, it shouldn't be a tough choice.

Phillips was a terrible GM, and he's an even worse analyst. But with guys like John Kruk, he fits right in.

And if anyone truly believes that ARod sucks and should be traded, then they too are morons, unless it's based on his fit in New York and not his abilities.

He used to be employed in the Mets front office, so that tells you all you need to know.

BTW as a Red Sox fan I will say that A-Rod definitely does not suck. However, the Yankees should trade him because he's worn out his welcome in New York and he was never a great fit for the team in the first place.

As a Mets fan, I do. He was a horrible General Manager for the Mets. But I do agree that they Yankees should trade A-Rod.

The A-Rod trade is nothing... it's not going to happen this year and it's not going to happen next year... Fabio, my friend, did you watch the game last night on ESPN? E.K. was one of the broadcasters... and I totally agree with him and his comments about A-Rod... if you did or didn't see the game let me know... I'll let you know what he said... it was very smart and very TRUE!!

A-Rod had a good night last night with his RBI and a run scored. He will get out of this mental slump hes going through and it will be in New York that he gets out of it.Phillips is a jerk, A-Rod is not going anywhere.
