Timothy James McVeigh (April 23, 1968 – June 11, 2001) was an American domestic terrorist who was executed for his part in the April 19, 1995 Oklahoma City bombing. Hundreds were injured and 167 people died when a truck loaded with improvised explosives was detonated in front of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building as federal offices began business for the day. Later a 168th victim died when a large piece of concrete crushed a rescue worker.

He is not around to answer. And if you can trust the US Federal Government, he was a US soldier who decided that he needed to express his opinions against the US government in a very particular way. With the help of two other individuals, planned and executed an attack on the Murray Building in Oklahoma, killing over one hundred human beings (including innocent children). You may argue (as some people still say) that he was the perpetrator just as well as Lee Harvey Oswald (President Kennedy's assassin) was. You just need to make up your mind. Can you trust our government? Do they ever tell the truth?

I remember when he was scheduled to be executed. There was a mix up on the dates and they had people on the news complaining that because of the change of dates they had lost their hotel reservations and were going to miss the execution and they were furious about that.

I agree that the punishment fit the crime. I just find it interesting that while most countries have done away with the death penalty, we had people on the front page angry about their hotel reservations.

That strikes me as a little self righteous.

Allegedly he was the man behind the OK bombing.
Conspiracy people allege that Mcveigh was part of a larger group. Although personally I don't buy into that.

A perverse psychopath who deserved a hell of a lot worse than he received, but according to most people in these forums, if he were a Hizballah member he would have been a legitimate freedom fighter, justified in killing 100s of people.
