As a college professor, let me say that anytime one decides to further their education, it's a good move! The world is constantly changing, and in the field of electronics and areospace, one definitely has to keep up with the latest.

As for whether you're making the right decision, only YOU can make that call. My one question is this: How transferrable is Devry? Because they're more of a tech college like ITT, there may be limited transferability of credits.

A community college definitely would be more easily transferrable than a tech college, but I'm not pushing it. The KEY is to go to a good school that offers real training and not a "BS" degree not worth the paper it's written on.

If you could find a program that combines enough areospace and electronics training, that would personally be my choice. And I would look into how much of one transfers to the other. And lastly, I would look into what you'd like to do down the road. People leave or loose their current jobs, so there's no such thing anymore as guaranteed security. And times change, so people sometimes have to switch careers.

Aerospace is a more limiting area than electronics, which is used at far more companies and more industries. The KEY is to get enough training in both areas so you can pretty easily find employment. If that requires 2 Bachelor degrees, then that's what you should do. But if you can get away with one degree and some additional classes or experience, then that's another way to go.

Either way, nice you have a job you like, a career path to follow, and want to gain more education. All smart moves!
