Singapore Idol is merely a programme for someone to perform and if they can receive sufficient support from the supporters. Imagine this, if a contestant suck big times, but he or she has a million dollar to spare and encourage everyone to call in to support and they will be reimburse, so what u eventually get is someone who couldn't sing well but win instead. This isn't a showcase of talent and decide by a panel of professional judges, but just a contest to see how well u can garner support from others.

I think Singapore judges are complete idiots. I've seen many good talents go to waste and they pick all the Uglies with a frog stuck in thier vocal folds. Its such a far cry from Any of our Idol competetions here its so full of crap they should just stop producing it. I just saw like the audition part of it and i was laughing my guts out on what they did to some of the good singers. None of the Rockers went in and the rest just looks like poser's Pukes- Guess this idol thing is just about pop huh? like bubble gum bursting in your face.

Come to think of it non of the local talents who make it comes from any singing competiton. Singapore Idol is just a money making program for telco companies, more calls of support more revenue for telco not to mention advertising money for the TV

I'll never like to see this programme because it is totally not transparent. Meaning, wasting the 20 cents telephone calls where you don't know the numbers of call received to support the participant. The judges also look like so stupid that he or she cannot help the outstanding participant. No good show, thus cannot produce "stars" only generate more revenue for "SingTel".
