I would like to choose a degree...my goal to be a cfa.

Would you recommend majors in Finance and economics or Finance and Accounting?

Becoming a CFA actually doesn't require a degree, but rather the passing of a series of exams. However, a degree definitely helps because you'll have an understanding of the concepts that will appear on the exam, and stand a better chance of getting through.

As for what one should major in, I would say finance would be the best one since it's most relevant to the field. However, one doesn't necessarily need a degree. Instead, you could take a series of individual classes on a variety of finance topics, such as investing, retirement planning, etc.

Essentially, business training is really all one needs. Most schools require students to take a wide variety of subjects like accounting, economics, management, etc., all of which help prepare you for the world of financial planning and advising.

If you mean "Certified Financial Advisor" then I would recommend communications. As a financial representative, your primary duty is going to be that of sales and customer service. Do not fall into the trap of thinking that if you are really good then people will call you.
