Israel is the country with most UN resolutions critical of it and have not been implemented. And i completely agree with the second anwser because it is very true. They also blame the Lebanese government for not implementing UN resolution 1559 although anyone could tell them that the Lebanese gov suffered years of turmoil and is too weak and the country is in too much of a fragile state to diarm hizballah and during the 18 years of invading lebanon (unprovoked did i mention) they couldnt disarm hizballah. The government has been trying to find a way to disarm them ever since they came to power after the syrian withdrawal.

Israel is hated because it is discriminatory, violent, and Hitler-esque.
Yes, since its creation with the help of England and allies, Israel has invaded the region, evicted thousands of people already living there, and oppressed them all. They have rallied support for their misguided cause from the West, who are religiously associated with them (as Judeo-Christian). All these wars occurred because the people who had an actual right to live in the area were pissed that suddenly these other people stole their lands. You might say that hey, that land is holy land for the Jews. However, I might as well say that it's just as holy for the Muslims who had already been living there. It's not like Judaism is more legitimate than Islam.
The only reason Israel is still in existence is because Western countries have given them billions of dollars in support. I think that they support Israel either because they think that the Jewish religion is more legitimate or (unfortunately) that the white skin of Israelis is superior to the dark skin of Palestinians, etc. They're wrong though, and it's very unjust for Israel to still be there.
What the Israelis ought to do is move out of where they are now and establish a state in a place where people are willing to give them land. It's not like they have a right to be there; just because Western countries tell them they could be where they are now doesn't mean they should be there. Indeed, anyone with a brain will resist them. Even Theodor Herzl, the man who started the Zionist movement that wanted to make a state for European Jews, suggested that they go to Australia instead of this holy land. So I'm sure that although Israel shouldn't be around there anymore, the Israelis can live on, and should move to a different place.
Then again, I doubt anything will change. Israel will continue masquerading with its so-called superiority to the people who actually have a right to be there. (You can go even further by saying that even before ancient Israel was made, the Israelis invaded the region and drove out the people living there such as Canaanites.) And the corrupt West will continue to support it. I'm against both sides of the conflict, but I don't think Israel belongs there.
That explains why it's not loved by anyone except the Israelis themselves and Westerners. They're blind to the truth though.

At the risk of violation. Israel is highly respected. What do you base your facts on? Some countries (I will not mention any names so not to offend them or the chipmunk) Support the terroristic attacks of Hezbollah. Most countries have responded well to Israels right to defend itself against terrorist attacks. Most countries If not all countries like people will retaliate against someone who breaks in to there home and kidnaps there children. Sorry if this has offended anyone. And yes it is an answer even if it is not an answer you enjoy.

I'm afraid it's because of the two explanations you mention, plus other factors: the God given rhetoric of the Orthodox extreme, the political and economic clout Zionism enjoys in the US, the support of right wing evangelical fundamentalists in the US.
I'm one of the few who still loves Israel, but I'm openly critical of its policies, mostly regarding Palestinians. Israel has the right to exists, just as any other nation does (Kurds, for instance), but its survival cannot be secured at the expense of other nation, such as the Palestinian.

A viable Palestine means a viable Israel and no viable Palestine means no viable Israel and wars go on between the two people.
No one could NOT change his mind unless he has no mind.
Occupying other people by force is losing policy in the past and now and has no future.
