Good and evil are a matter of perspective. What seems good one day may seem evil the next. The thing did not change. People's opinion of the thing changed. Quess what? It may change again.

in my opinion you cannot have good without evil and there wouldn't be any evil without good. because everyone sins. take a look at the bible...in the garden of eden (where sin first began) it was perfect. adam and eve were good "children" of god but then came the devil. there has always been good and evil (god and satan). satan convinced eve to do something forbidden by god and thus began sin. but then god sent his own son to die for our sin and allow us to begin anew. if there was no god then there would be no devil (because the devil is really a fallen angel named lucifer).
