its not a HUGE deal but i would recommend u get rid of it. dont use Spybot, download Ewido from www.ewido.com and do a Complete System Scan.
NewDotNet is is spyware that redirects search queries to the new.net search engine.
Unlike many spyware programs, it does not secretly collect information, and the latest versions no longer inflict unrequested pop-up ads on the user.
Hope this helps.

Save all of your important files somewhere else. The best way is to buy an external USB hard drives and just click and drag them over.
Back up your programs that you don't have the orignal discs for, or just use this time as a "spring cleaning" for you computer and get rid of stuff that you don't need.
In the future, NEVER click on and download programs that pop up and state, "Do you want to load and install, from whatever?" Because somewhere along the line, you DID, and you allowed that scum-bag company to take over your computer.
After your hours of work backing stuff up, put your original Windows disc in the computer and reload Windows as an orignal installation.
There are other ways to remove newdotnet or that bongobuddy or whenusave, etc., but they are tedius and complex and not for the average user.
Starting anew is great and your computer will run faster. Buy and install Nortons stuff if you can afford it. If not, use Windows defender if you run Windows XP service pack 2. Use spybot and adaware to remove spyware.
But don't load programs from the net that "popup" except Flash.
Spyware problems are getting easier to control lately, but you can't be stupid and fall for the popups that ask you to do something and you allow it.

Try Ad-aware (lavasoft.com) instead. Sometimes one will remove at program the other doesn't.
If that does not work, try booting the PC in Safe Mode. Press the F8 key repeatedly as the PC is booting until it offers you a menu screen where you can select Safe Mode. Sometimes a program not not be deleted because it loads itself during bootup. Safe Mode prevents anything from being able to load during bootup.
Finally, here is a manual removal tech from the web
Removal
If you have the variant that installs into Program Files, open the 'NewDotNet' folder in Program Files and run the 'uninstall' program. If this folder does not exist, try opening the Control Panel and looking in the 'Add/Remove Programs' list.
In the case of older versions where NewDotNet is not in the list, you could try installing a new version and then using the uninstall feature. Common anti-spyware titles and Ad-Aware 6 also remove NewDotNet.
Manual removal
A botched manual removal can result in you losing your network connection. Be very careful.
First you must deregister the Winsock2 Layered Service Provider installed by NewDotNet. LSPFix gives you an interface to this. You should 'remove' the NewDotNet entries and 'keep' the rest.
Next, load regedit and open HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID . Delete the keys 4A2AACF3-ADF6-11D5-98A9-00E018981B9E and DD521A1D-1F98-11D4-9676-00E018981B9E . For older variants the key will be DD770A75-CE18-11D5-98D8-00E018981B9E instead.
Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run . Delete the new.net value. Open HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects and remove the 4A2AACF3-ADF6-11D5-98A9-00E018981B9E key. You can also delete the new.net entry in HKLM\Software and the tldctl2 classes in HKCR to clean up if you wish.
Reset the computer and you should be able to delete the NewDotNet folder (new variant) or the newdotnet DLL in the Windows directory (old variant).

Newdotnet can be removed from your computer so relax... Newdotnet only affects PCs that use Internet Explorer so a new web browser will keep if from sneaking back in again.
I got tired of all the IE problems and finally started using Fire Fox. What a difference it made! My only regret was not using it sooner...
Try this site for help removing Newdotnet and consider using another web browser while you're at it. http://www.newbie.org/firstaid/newdotnet_removal.html

I had this too, and it's a miserable problem to fix. I found that what worked for me is to go into the system back up built into windows XP (assuming this is what you have) and reverting to a backup before you got NewDotNet on your computer. It's much harder to actually fix it, and the software to do that isn't free.

to eliminate trojans you surely could regulate off device fix first, then boot in risk-free mode. have to procure a usb keyboard you ought to use? To get into risk-free Mode many times press the F8 key after the bios show screen a lot (the black show screen with the white writing) yet in the past homestead windows a lot. you would be attentive to in case you made it because of the fact the show screen would be at 800 x six hundred and your laptop would be sluggish. AVG 7.5 could be waiting to eliminate it in case you will get into risk-free mode.
